Re: How to unlock 4-digit combination padlock

Scudo

I got your lock in the mail today.
It was very difficult to determine anything that felt right.
After about an hour I got the right tension on it to be sure I had a few numbers.
Wheels felt crunchy and kind of squeaky when I was getting close.
It has plenty of false gates.

Finally got it and numbers I thought was right for the longest time were not even close.
Was fun and frustrating not an easy one to open.

What numbers did you think you had right?

Re: How to unlock 4-digit combination padlock

Excellent, well done!

I don’t have my notes now but when I was jotting down likely numbers then the false gates were throwing me and taking me all over the place and I was coming up with a different set. As it was a cheap padlock I didn’t think there would be false gates (never assume as they say).

The original combination was 0611 I also used some of those numbers to increase my odds thinking she may not have changed all of the digits, at least my thinking was correct for that part but in the end I never cracked it, even more annoying to think it was only 1 digit out.
