Abloy key copy?

Hello, I was wondering how I can get a copy of my Abloy key. It's the second generation profile P without the hole in the key. I got EXTREMELY lucky and won a Abloy PL350 Enforcer Padlock from Ebay with one key. The locksmiths in the Baltimore area don't seem to know about Abloy.

Thanks,

Re: Abloy key copy?

congrats on your new lock :)

Is the key C-shaped? I'm not sure if I knwo what you mean by second generation.
Could you maybe make a pic of the key with blackening out most of the biting but not all of it?
If I'm thkining of the right one the key is really old and the profile is probably no longer protected. That means you are in theory able to have it copied.

You will need an abloy dealer though, (google) I can recommend a reputable and turatable Abloy dealer working nation-wide: https://securitysnobs.com/
I'm not affiliated with them in any way, I'm just a happy reutrning customer of them.
Maybe you can find a local lockie who can help, that would probably be easier, but you can contact them and see if they can help. They are nice people.

Here's a link to the Security Snobs page that shows all the different types of Abloy keys.

Re: Abloy key copy?

So you meant the '77 Ablyo profile?

Maybe if you can't have the key copied you can upgrade the core of the padlock to a more modern system, and not only gain some security, but get a couple of keys and have the possibility to have more keys made later on.

Re: Abloy key copy?

Thank you guys for your responses. I should have mentioned that I spoke with locksnobs. They identified the key as the 1977 model and say they no longer have the machine to cut it. Here are some pictures of me lock with the key. I can't believe I won this for $20 on Ebay. It was advertised by "Enforcer" padlock only.

Thats a "B" -Profile key. Silca AY3.
Your keybitting is 1053252120.
I cut those, but unfortunately a single key is as exepencive as your lock with key.
Nice lock for nice price!

Thank you for your help! I fully understand that I will have to pay $$ for another key. I know I got off very easy on the lock. How much would you charge for a copy? How about 2 copies?

Thanks,

Hi Karma.

As you've no doubt guessed, anybody who can tell you the bitting of an Abloy key just by looking at a picture of it knows his stuff.

Have a look at Wizer's videos in this link.

Re: Abloy key copy?

I Must admit I failed to see the cutting code wizer had decoded after looking at the key several times ! and I bet some of you did also

so I asked Gordon who put me straight on this ( when decoding start from tip BUT don't count the tip ) simple

Working on A 5 angle cut being the deepest and 0 being a none cut

A Fundamental F ..K up like this when decoding the key is IMPORTANT ! and is so easy to make

thanks wizer & gordon
