hard to believe but picked first ACE 7pin today

you guy have all seen me murder other high security locks like medeco etc but have never had opportunity to pick a tubular lock until today. I'm at father in laws in San Diego where they lost key to gun safe so I was resourceful grabbed his dremel a steak knife and an Allen wrench and was able to pick my first 7pin open today.

Nicely done sir! Was it an actual ACE/ACE II or a generic copy?

Poor steak knife! What did it ever do to you?

However, congratulations. It is very different when you do not have to worry about a short pin hiding behind a deep pin.

It could have been a copy not sure it was previous homeowners box he came back to get it and was gonna try to cut the safe opened my FIL suggested I try with the limited material we had available and it was a success yet another lock opened on the fly the owner was great full but snatched the box and guns up as soon as opened it so did not get a chance to really evaluate it and I was on top of an eight foot ladder in a closet so brand wasn't first thing on my mind.

I like how you unsharpened the knife blade. Safety first!

Cheers :)

Yes that is the first thing I did well I guess second to slicing the tip off. I decided that since it worked so well I better clean up the tool an add it to my collection at home so here it is shaped and stained awaiting some poly

Are you sure you want to use Polygrip on the handle? Might be messy.
