Home made safe "spikemaster" device 30$

ok the "spikemaster" is an outstanding tool but lets be honest its 30$ worth of parts that sells for 350$ so I decided to make my own "kit"

The heart of the kit is a clean field worthy 9v bipolar power source and a built in audio/visual continuity tester a 9v battery tests circuits and supplies power to the "probes"

success!

literally everything pictured was well under 15$ in parts from my local surplus electronics store

Project part 2A the "probes"

The probes garb the wire, cut the wire and create an eletrical contact. When power is applied to the right spot your TL 30 safe opens with a simple flick of the switch.

2, 12" long pieces of 100% copper tube about 3/16" outside diameter, I cut a "funnel" at the tip leaving a sharp edge this is necessary to the cut the plastic shielding of the wire properly. 1.10$ each at the hardware store

the "hooks" are simple .015" diameter spring steel wire or "piano wire" the shape hooks the wire and pulls it into the sharp edge of the copper tubes

as I'm posting this I"m waiting for the glue to dry but 2 .5 cent nuts are going to be the spring stops for the probes. They are press fit and then super glued with a few layers like I said they are currently drying.

Excellent! And Cheap! I kinda feel dumb for buying, not one but two...
It looks almost identical to the Lockmasters device.
All you need to do is write "Spike it!"

the glue has dried and I put the finishing touches on.

Some heat shrink tubing at harbor freight tools was 1.20$

springs from two dollar store pens and they are finished, I tested them on some 18 gage wire that is a bit thicker than what we would find it safes and they bite hard and stop at the core

Pretty sure mike yarberry or lockmasters would not like me doing that but if you have some tools to trade I'm all always trying to get new tools anything I can use for professional safe work.

this tools ONLY works for the Sergent and greenleaf cambolt style lock but its an interesting tool Mike Yarberry designed heres my take on it.

One drills a 3/8" hole thru the soft zinc right down the spindle hole and works the tool into lock before twisting and depressing the solenoid JUST enough the turn the safe handle forcing the bolt to cam inwards.
