Locksmiths & Technology

Here are a few things we can do with computers to help out us Locksmiths.

Wordpress - this is a blog type site but you can tweak it to make it look like a webpage. You can find lots of tutorials on youtube for this.

Google Earth - my coworker uses a camera to take pictures while on the job and it saves the GPS information which he later uses on google earth to find it's location.

Google Maps, street view - you can use this to get an idea of the place your going to do your service call at. It helps to get an idea of what types of locks you might be dealing with.

Outlook.com - It has an online calender you can you to set up your appointments and have it send notifications to your phone.

Squareup.com - is a small device you can attach to your smartphone or tablet to process credit card transactions.

Zoominfo & Superpages - we used these to look up fax numbers for our accounts in order for us to send out our billing invoices.

Fax to pdf - used as either a service or software, it can save you fax paper when marketers send you advertisements to your business thru your fax machine. It'll receive your faxes and convert them to pdf files, you then save or delete.

Other ideas - you can google your accounts and save their logos and store them on your smart phone, so when they dial, their logo is seen.

if anyone else has some great ideas out there, please feel free to add on to this list.

Thank you, CLH!
