rekeying a 5 pin lock

what steps would you take to re-key a 5 pin cylinder for a customer ???
everyone is different how would you do it ???

Assuming you've removed the tailpiece and you have the key or have it shimmed, you put the follower in the back and push the plug out. Empty the plug of the old pins, insert the key you are keying it up to and put the new pins in. Put the plug in the lock pushing the follower out put your tailpiece back on and re-install the lock.

Something I might add: Lay all your tools out on a table so that you can be quick at pinning the locks, I just done a job where I had to repin 10 locks, it does take awhile, but it took 2.5 hours, that also includes some deadbolts and taking all the locks apart and reinstalling them to the doors. You need to have everything within reach, I even figure out what pins I need and put 5 piles of them on my pinning mat just so that I go from one to another and don't have to deal with grabbing the wrong pins out of my pinning kit.

Don't forget to check the top pins. Look for spring deformity and for master pins that youu don't want in there.
