Looking for a Primus Dealer

LONG time no post.

I'm looking for somebody who can duplicate Schlage Primus keys.
I'd do it myself but those damn finger pins make everything more difficult.

Also, if anybody has any tips on making keys from a mold, that would be helpful in case I can't find somebody willing to duplicate it.

For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, the Schlage Primus is a high security lock that uses two sets of pins to secure the cylinder.
It is essentially a pin-tumbler lock, but uses a secondary set (called finger pins) to secure the cylinder.

You can see the two sets of teeth on they key here:

So. If any of you out there can duplicate a Primus key, please send me a PM!

Interesting bitting on that

The code is hidden in the tumblers. One position opens the lock, another position opens one of these doors...

Yeah, for sure.

I've never heard of anybody being able to pick one, they way the finger pins work is very different from pins you'd find in an American. Tension doesn't affect how they bind the same way.

Naaapaalm...sticks to kids...it sticks to the belly and it sticks to the ribs...
See those kids standing by the lake...drop some napalm and watch them bake.

Re: Looking for a Primus Dealer

Here's the basis of your problem. Anybody that Schlage sells Primus to is under contract from Schlage. So anybody with access to blanks can't just cut anybody any key. And even though the patent on your key has likely expired, the fact that you haven't been able to get a duplicate shows that the system is still doing what it's originally intended to do (Prevent unauthorized key duplication).

As far as I know, no aftermarket keys are being manufactured. Your best bet for a duplicate would be to make a mold of the key (which I have no experience with). Unless you are authorized to get duplicates, but then you wouldn't be asking.

FYI, normally when someone needs a duplicate of a key they aren't authorized to get, but say they own the property. They get the locks rekeyed to a new key, a new key that they are authorized to get.

Re: Looking for a Primus Dealer

i got a primus core with the keys and all the order info is on the box and i still cant get a control key for the LFIC. you need the card with the side bitting code on it for them to copy the key. sucks for pickers, but thats the reason the system is setup that way.
