Thank you for your replies, I have been wondering this question for quite awhile now. I wish I had picked up locksmithing while I was still over there, there just seems to be so much variety. Such narrow keyways and stronger springs, are they tougher on picks?

I Agree with using a vice. makes for fast change outs . I would recommend making a practice board . I made one from a 2x4 cut into thirds. . one lays flat (bottom), one straight up(drilled holes for locks) , one diagonal for brace. i have about 7 locks on it right now. just added a few last night. you can change them out or rekey them at your leisure . I bet there are lots of people here with pictures and better instructions ... As for the owner breathing down your neck..... We had an eviction lock out a few days ago. Had to open the door with a sheriff LITERALLY holding a stop watch to see how fast we were. luckily it popped in less than 2 minutes. First time i ever picked a front door open with a cop watching .. :twisted:
