After looking at your videos, is there a lock you have tried to pick without success? Very impressive.

I hope that I can pick it on cam. Maybe this weekend or next week. Dont have much time.
But picking it wasnt too hard (dimple pick and short hook).
It was fun and rewarding.
Many ASSA locks are more of pain in the ass.

Is that a humble "No." that I hear? :P

Seriously though, is Farmerfreak just pretending to be German here or what? I can't even figure out how half the locks this guy has picked even work.

The package says MT5, not MT5+. I believe there is a difference.

The lock and key in the pics is a "+", you can see the sliders in the keyway and the track on the key. A MT5 (no "+") doesn't have the sliders and the key is milled so it can't be cut with the track.

Re: Mul-T-Lock MT5+ [IKON R10 ]picked!

What you can see (if you mean the thing on the right upper part of the keyway, and I can't see anything which looks like a slider) is not the slider, but the part of the keyway, it's the part which makes up the "profile" of the lock. The sliders themselves are above the pins.
It's often mistook for slider :)
If you look at the key and imagine it being put in the lock you can see why it's the only possible way. The sliders and the pins are above each other (and are moved by the different surfaces of the key but on the same (left) half of the key, while the right half is only using it's profile grooves to "identify" itself.
Not sure if that is clear, try to look at the key and then imagine it going in the lock and thinking about what part of the key goes where in the lock.
(Keys are reversible, so mirrored on the 2 sides.

Now I'm definitely not saying he didn't pick MT5+, all I'm saying is that what you see is probably not the sliders, but the profile :)
To infinity... and beyond!
