Nice work on the MTL Classics rick.

Lockpickkid: rotation depends on which MTL cylinder you're picking, some cams only turn one way so if it's a cam lock, rotate tension accordingly. These locks do not contain a side bar, they are completely symmetrical.
As for what picks to use, I pick them using the Souber set, works great. I use strong tension on MTL Classic and light tension on MTL interactive.

also if that is a properly pinned interactive cylinder I doubt a half rake will open it.

rick, what side are you attacking the pins from?
i assume the side with the wider gap?

no the smaller gap side, this way you can rest teh flat edge of your pick in the corner and then rotate onto the pins with the diamond

Hello mates,
I've got an Interactive and a MT5 from Rick here, no luck so far...
I've focused on the Interactive, but it looks like I'm missing something. I've read about "the big false" and "huge rotation" when the fat pins (outer pins) are set, are we talking about really "huge" rotation or a little more than a "spool rotation"?
If I manage to get this big false, may I ease the tension a little? I'm using strong tension for outer pins, maybe my mistake lies here.
Thank you for your help!
Andrea

Nice and even better opening it with a homebrew pick after a while picking the mult t locks you,ll wonder what all the fuss was about.
i know there are dedicated lockpicks out there and can be very expensive to buy.

True. I managed to pick it three times in a row, everything becomes easy once you do it
I've seen the dedicated picks, maybe they could be useful for a professional locksmith..

Now on to the MT5...
