Comb Picks

I was watching one of Lockylew's vids last night reviewing comb picks and I was just wondering how they work?

If I'm getting this right... the pick pushes all the driver pins past the shear line leaving ALL the pins and springs in the bible, allowing the plug to turn?

The teeth on the picks must have to be exactly the same length as the holes in the plug otherwise the pins wouldn't make it past the shear line or the teeth poking through would not allow the plug to turn?

And considering there are only three picks in the set from uklockpickers (one is for six pins)... that would mean most/all pin tumbler locks are generic in size? I would have thought each lock manufacturer would have there own sizes?

Am I getting any of this right / add anything relevant?

Cheers!

nahh comb picks dont take much skill at all... you just have to slide it in, line it up with the chambers, push up(or down in some cases) and then turn.

no real difficult process

note: they wont work on all locks though... only ones with shorter pin stacks.
those with long pin stacks are unable to hold all pins in the bible...
