Another lock I have to thank RMRFSUDO for! Super cool, now I just have to see if I can turn it back and pick the control pin without resetting it

Got this lock off a local fella the other day, for a great price, considering how much he must have paid to buy and import it. It is surely now the largest lock in my collection, followed closely by the S&G Military padlocks.

I recently got many new toys from my friends Boris and Antonio. This weekend was raining, what could I do? Pick some of them, of course! I left the most difficult ones for the next time.
Cheers

A Zeiss Ikon.. The tolerances in these are crazy.
One of the hardest locks I've ever picked. I can pick Mul-t-locks quicker than it takes to pick this guy.

Wow UnlockD!
I have never seen a 7 pin from Ikon, or a 6 pin even for that matter. I have a couple of 5 pins from them, which I picked again for the umpteenth time the other day, but they are both clearly lower security models than yours and neither had any security pins, just a lovely restricted keyway. Your Ikon definately shares the keyway design style in common with mine though, they really enjoy making thier keyways super paracentric, the giant ward at the bottom left is noted |:D Nice picking mate!
Happy New Year everyone, I hope you all have had a chance to relax and smile, and potentially use some of your free time to practice your picking, like I have!

Thanks for sharing. Do I see small bearing balls in the springs? If so, what is the use of it?
Regards John.

That would be for a little bit of drill resistance.

Oh, good eye there John. I didn't even notice those.
Nice to see a company go that little 'extra'.

Hmm I've never heard that explanation but I agree they probably do add some of that. They definitely offer some anti bump resistance - they muck up the newton's cradle effect of a bump key - and I think that this is their main design use. These are often an aftermarket ad-hoc addon by individual locksmiths - Europeans are unbelievably paranoid about bump resistance.
Great picking mate, you're right, the tolerances on the German stuff are outstanding.
Comps of the season etc etc.
Michael.
