First one in a little while for me, I haven't put down the pick, but I have had some very tricky locks testing my resolve. I thought this lock would be a walk in the park in comparison, but potentially due to wear in the lock, once a couple of binders were set, everything would become springy. Only after I was starting to get frustrated I tried lifting pins to the shear line through the spring, and found another click, which returned the lock to binding. I thought this may also have to do with pins binding to different shearlines being that this lock has a master ring, but it opened on the inner core? Does the pExtra have an active profile pin or something? That's the impression I've gotten from the marketing material.
Have only picked older GeGe's (all serrated pins, nothing special). The related Alfa locks have hollow pins with a T pin inside as well, presumably for kinetic attack protection.

I thought the same thing before I got my hands on it, the profile pin is there, but passive. Just deep serrated as you say. I also recently accquired an AP3000, same thing, but instead of a passive profile pin, it has a passive gearwheel which interfaces with holes in the key to prevent anything else getting in. Same drivers too, all serrated.

For those asking, lock contains 6 deeply serrated top pins, and a passive gearwheel which interface with holes on the key to prevent duplication.



Another cool padlock body that I hadn't come across before, saw it at the locksmith and have to have one.

Pumped to get this one open! Took a heckuva lot of patience. Used a dimple pick with a long 'L' shaped head and a 15 thou pick to get the really deep set pins in the middle of the bitting. Thanks again to greengrow for this lock

Very similar if not the same as the Trioving 7 pin, all the weird 'trampoline' spools up top. Lot of fun, counter rotation going every which way!

You bet! They're just so beastly! When I first came around here,
a member (kokomolock) had a pass-along with a mogul. I called
it the 'kokomogul' lol. It was great fun to follow it on utube.

It would kick the shit outta most everyone on the out-of-box try.
With time, they'd usually get it picked on camera before passing
it on. It eventually visited me... kicked my ass for a while too. ha

I have a couple in my collection today (Brinks and a Folger Adams).

Thanks oldfast! I have been hankering for some challenges for a while, but didn't get a hold of a lot of the locks until I made a recent trade. Very happy to be ticking a few off my list.

Another slider down! This one was not as complex as the 3KS, but very similar in operation. If you are looking to attempt a 3KS, this would make a great stepping stone. As always with sliders, I used a fibre optic light to see inside, and determine when pins were bound into a false gate versus free in a true gate. Very satisfying.

Finally got a fully pinned Emhart picked today. I had trouble rotating the low cuts so I made a very small half diamond pick for them
