Excellent work Riff...I went through that same dry spell myself for many months. Once you can pick it consistently, take it apart, gut the core, and scramble the pins. You'll have a new lock to practice on.

Congrats!

Great job Riff! That didn't take you very long did it!! I told you that you would get it open. Now you will probably find that other Americans will be easier as well. You just have to get the feel for them, once you do, you will have all of them picked in no time!

Congrats buddy! Americans were a big step for me. Were you using top or bottom of keyway tension?

Re: Just picked my first American!!!

Grats Riff! I've heard nothing but good things about the TOK's that awol puts out, I hope he's doing ok.

get a vid up yet?

I have a couple of 1105's i got from HC but I have yet to pop them. I've been slowly working my way there, I have to get through the crappy locks before i tackle serrated tops and bottoms pinned by HC himself. hehe.

grats again!, great job!

(sorry to hear about that klom, r.i.p.)

Awesome!
I remember when I picked my first American....I was happy as hell.
I'm pretty certain that several ACE hardware high security locks are re-branded Americans as well, so if you need another to practice on, try there :)

congrats!

American 1100 ? Good lock to pick.

It certainly personifies the "look and feel" of the brand.
