I know that they own a HUGE number of lock companies but I was wondering who their competitors are. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assa_Abloy shows a partial list of companies they own but does anyone know what companies are seperate from assa aloy?

Kaba is another large family of lock companies. I don't think it is ASSA related.

Kaba is seperate but i think sargent and green leaf is owned by them. On the wiki page it lists "sargent" as one of their acquisitions and i think that's the same as sargent and greenleaf maybe.

From what I can deduce Assa Abloy owns Sargent, which is not S&G, but they do own Ingersoll, which is paired with the S&G on those military padlocks... confusing no?

from this site: http://www.assaabloy.com/Global/Investo ... cence.html it says they are competitors with Ingersoll-Rand, Stanley Black & Decker, Dorma, and Kaba. To find where it says that go halfway down the page where it says competition. or just search for kaba. But then i just found http://lockwiki.com/index.php/Lock_manufacturer which says assa abloy owns ingersoll security which might be the same as ingersoll-rand?

That was quite some time ago. Back in the 60s or early 70s.
