I thought that keyway looked familiar... (ASSA coin lock)

Recently got some of these tiny ASSA locks. The keyway makes it really tough to navigate. Reminded me of that old and tough E1R Yale keyway, so I compared them. They are surprisingly similar! The ASSA key even begins to fit in but the bottom warding on the E1R seems to be slightly too wide.

Also if anybody knows anything more about these type of ASSA locks I'd love to hear it. It's 5 pin and on the key it says "Reg. Des."

Is it a 5-pin lock?
Just about every 5-pinner with a YA1 type keyway like yours accept this universal blank:
http://skskeys.co.uk/products/standard/u-5d-key-blank/
exept for Assa. The tolerances are so high you need a right blank for it:
http://skskeys.co.uk/products/standard/as-3d-key-blank/
Don´t know about that E1R blank tho, my converter didn´t find the blank.

Yep, it's a 5 pin lock. Thanks for the links! And yeah it doesn't surprise me with regard to the tolerances being high; it's pretty tough to keep pins set.

Where did you get a hold of those from? I recently got 6 of them from tradera.
