The insides!

The plug has special cuts (hard to see) designed to catch the spool pins.

The pins for the sidebar have multiple false gates.

ASSA TWIN 6000

The sidebar alone seems impossible to pick,
The normal pins are such a pain to pick without the sidebar,
Add the tight tolerances of ASSA,

The result is a extremely secure lock.

I own 3 of those babies, I doubt I'll pick any of them fully pinned - EVER!.

Re: ASSA TWIN

oh my god! thats nuts... one would assume a bypass technique would be the easy route... are there methods/tools available for the TWIN? Also is that pickable... I mean seriouslythats some high security by the looks of it...

Re: ASSA TWIN

You got your hands on a fine ASSA 6000-series, what cylinder type number I don't know since you left the outer cylinder out of the picture. Is it oval or round? If you would like any info on it I would be happy to provide. I haven't worked with them personally because we don't have them at school but I have data on them in my service technical manual. I have heard that they are an extremely hard pick, good luck to you!

Re: ASSA TWIN

its a round mortise lock. If you have some cool info id be glad to hear it. Post here or feel free to pm me!

The lock has one pin that has worn down to the point the key no longer raises it to the shear line so I cant put it back together for fear of never getting it apart again

Re: ASSA TWIN

Yeah, that one is not produced in sweden so I have no idea what number it would get but it most definitely is a 6000-series, it strongly reminds of the 6511 though. I will scan the pages I got on it tomorrow and will begin translation too. I don't know all the terms in english so the translation will be both rough and may be some literal translations too. Oh, and there is a lot of pictures and stuff so the untranslated stuff should still be pretty interesting for you.

Re: ASSA TWIN

I have picked the Assa Twin v-10 once but not the 6000. I made a little breakdown about the v-10 which can be found here:
