Sargent Keso IC core exposed

Hi guys,
after lots of support, I made the following video about the Sargent Keso IC core.
(20:10:59) Blacky: oki
(20:18:08) MBI: Me working for the CIA is about as likely as you working in the Middle East.
(20:19:01) Riyame: lol
(20:19:05) Riyame: he is in dubai
(20:19:26) MBI rescinds his previous comment

Re: Sargent Keso IC core exposed

Great video and explanation!

Let's say we don't have the key for that lock. I'm wondering if it's possible to lift just the single back pin and rotate the control lug, freeing the core without even touching the standard pins. Is this possible in your opinion?

Thanks :)

No, the normal pins would still lock it closed.

Re: Sargent Keso IC core exposed

I watched the video again, can't understand what would prevent the control lug to rotate, once the last pin is pressed up. It doesn't seem connected to the plug in any way.
Sorry to bother all of you with these doubts, unfortunately I don't have one of these locks to play with.

Cheers :)

The pins for the operating key have to be set in order for the lock to rotate ......i have one of these and its a nightmare to pick and got no key.

If you try to just depress this pin by itself then your just doing the equivelant of setting one pin in a lock with 10x's that amount of pins....in theory its like trying to rotate a lock woith one pin set.....as you know that doesnt work

Thanks guys!
Femurat, you are correct (sorry riyame) I CAN lift that back pin and push over the control lug at just the right point. the control lug is independant of the operating key. But, you must manually push the lug over from the back. there is no way to do it from inside the keyway.

Ah yea, was a early morning lol. Was thinking it was a regularly type cylinder instead of a removable one.
