Emhart Blockout Function Cylinder

I won a lot of 4 Emhart on ebay the other day and and when I received them I noticed they had 2 sets of caps instead of 1. After a lot of looking and asking I found a Russwin PDF that explained they were Blockout Function Cylinders, I thought it was some kind of trap pins. Using a special Blockout key, you turn the plug to 11 o'clock and remove the blockout key. Now the regular operating keys won't go all the way in the cylinder so they are locked out. To reset just use the Blockout key again and turn it to 12 o'clock and now the operating keys will function again. As you can see the 11 o'clock position only has 5 pins instead of 6 and the blockout key has the last ramp removed so it can go under the 6th pin that is trapped with no book to go into. The cylinders did not come with Blockout keys but each came with 2 operating keys so using the PDF and taking one of the cylinders apart I was able to make a working Blockout key. Here is the complete PDF for those that want it, good stuff http://extranet.assaabloydss.com/library/partsmanuals/CorbinRusswin/pdf/CR_CylinderManual.pdf.

The new old stock cylinders I won.

And the 6th pin in the cylinder is a standard pin, no interlocking!!

Sweet! Good job! Is it tough figuring out when you have the pin turned correctly?
