You've been away for a while, haven't you? Anyway, we have some alternate topic forums where you can discuss various interests - other than lockpicking.

Go to the board and look under "Open Discussion".

Re: Geeks ahoy

BTW, if anyone has any problems feel free to float a question my way, I do IT by day (I wear many hats, OS support/administration of windows, linux, and unix, DBA, programmer, etc...), photography by evening an weekend, and lockpicking in between and around...

I like helping people, and everyone here seems ready to help in other areas, so again feel free to ask!

Does she play 3d games on it? If not, then a much cheaper card from newegg or similar would do just fine. Just read the reviews to make sure there isn't a high doa or quick failure rate. Also, although I used to reccomend ATI cards, their support has gone to hell in a handbasket, so I'd say get something with an nvidia chipset.

Riff, now THAT's a skill to have! I dig around fatwallet from time to time, but don't chase the free deals too far. Gotta let us know when you find deals!

Elbowmacaroni, this is one of my very favorite sites.....Very good quality equipment and cheap as hell. For example a 35ft Hdmi cable would probably cost you 100-200 bucks at a store....From this place I got one for 30 bucks.....The deals are amazing. I've been using them for a couple years now.

It's been a while since I've made an order from them. From what I remember it takes about five days from the time of your order until the time you get it. But that is likely to change depending on where you live.....As far as packaging, they've always done a very good job IMO. I've never ordered anything huge though....mostly cabling.. It comes down to this....either I shop at newegg OR monoprice....I prefer monoprices because the prices or so low...but if I need something in two days I go with newegg....For some reason newegg is insanely fast with their shipping.

Well, I was gonna post a reply but apparently there's already an IT/photog/lockpick guy here.. :whip:
Hehe. Kidding. :geek:
All joking aside, I run an out-of-home business repairing/upgrading/moddinig PC's and game consoles (mostly xbox360's but certainly not unfamiliar with other systems), so if I can be of help in any way please don't hesitate to shoot me a pm. I may be new to the forums, but I plan on sticking around. So I'd like to be as much of an asset to the community as I can be. :D
Cheers,
Dustin
