Program to control an other computer over a network

I have a crossover network cable that allows file transfer and sharing over the network .

Does any one know of a program that offers remote control of one of the computers on the network.

It makes it like you are sitting right in front of the remote computer.

I am thinking of something like PC Anywhere or Instant house call.

I use Team Viewer. It's free and meets my needs. Aren't there native programs for remote control through windows?

I use vnc. Teamviewer appears to be the popular option but haven't gotten around to fiddling with it as much.

Yes. RDC: Remote Desktop Connection. Used it to manage some ADs because the MS guys do. Its more bandwidth efficient than vnc but has its limitations. A good place to start really since its already there.

I use VNC too and, even if it's old, am very happy with it.

Cheers :)

Teamviewer is very easy and good. Anyone remember Back Orifice?

Still out there. Still a problem for embedded systems and older machinery controllers. I did a mandatory scan last week for a couple dozen of the usual suspects from the same time period.

I know you got your answer, but I just want to mention that I use uVNC (UltraVNC) for this purpose and it works great on the LAN, not sure how it'd do over a WAN or the Internet though as I've not had a need to use it for that purpose so far
