New here

Hey guys!

I've only been picking locks for about 6 months, but I feel like I've progressed a lot in that time.
I make all of my picks, and they're generally getting better (both in how they work and how they look).

Looking forward to reading all the great stuff here!

Re: New here

I have a bunch that don't have handles, and a couple that have 'less nice looking' handles - I'm in the process of putting handles on everything now. Each one is coming out better than the last - ha.

The first picture is the last one I made. Hopefully the rest come out (at least) that good.

I've been using band saw blades a lot lately. (Longer than a hack saw blade, so more picks from one blade. Plus, they seem stronger - flexible, but strong. They don't bend like hack saw blades.)

The handles are aluminum, riveted on. Lots of sanding and polishing, lol!

I have a few picks that I made out of titanium, but honestly - I like the band saw blade ones more. It was totally the opposite of what I expected, but the titanium ones are too 'springy'.

Re: New here

Welcome Josh. I agree with your observations about band saw blades. I salvaged one blade from work and it made awsome picks. I had some luck with hacksaw blades also, if they were bi-metal. Again, glad to have you on board.
