Welcome Joe Momma. It is great to have you here. Lots of great discussion on locks, picking, and everything else on the forum. Are you new to picking or a seasoned professional?

Cheers!

Hey dude, nice to have your acquaintance.

Every site has its secrets but the other one you mention (or didn't!) is especially ridiculous about it all. It's like they're super paranoid about anyone learning how to open anything 'high security'. Despite the fact that crowbars and sledgehammers already exist!

Welcome!

I believe that our forum is more in line with the spirit of TOOOL. Just as huxleypig implied, why would you spend 100+ hours learning to pick a high security lock if your only interest is in what the lock protects and you can just use a destructive attack?

New to this definitely, don't have any picks yet.

However I did score at an estate sale a key duplicator, a bunch of blanks, key gauges, repinning kits, and a laptop that I already sold that had some locksmith software on it (but I got me a copy of the programs before selling).

I have not even tried picking yet, but I did impression my first masterlock M1 4-pin the other day.

They would have come in handy for your new hobby.

One of our well-regarded members, LSA, is producing his own line of picks. If you need some picks please do considers LSAs.

jeffmoss26 wrote:What kind of pinning kits? :)

Schlage, Kwikset, Master/American #291, and an unknown box of pins (probably used ones by the looks)

Ended up being a great deal to as I sold the laptop (copied software b4), it was an old win-xp system and slow...

What I got for the laptop almost covered what I paid for the whole collection of stuff :)

So far I have only used the schlage re-pinning kit to re-key a few home locks, once I get a rekeyable master lock opened that I do not have the key for I plan to try the master pinning kit out.
