Hi there, new member here..
Hi everyone,
my name is Timothy from Germany, a hobbyist lock-picker and collector on and off for a few years now, since I have quite a lot of different interests that require my attention.
Primarily I focused on research when I started this awesome and time consuming hobby, getting to know about the history and vast varieties of locks and locking mechanisms. After five to six month into the research I gradually graduated to raking, then picking (spp) Euro profile cylinders of different origins and makings, mainly German locks though, since those are more present and available to me.
As for many of use that put a fair amount of hours into this activity, I then advanced my knowledge and skills by looking into key impressions, master-keying, tool making, etc..
Nowadays I enjoy picking and taking locks apart, seeing and studying the technology behind them and still a lot of time goes into research = fun in my book!
Questions are always welcome if you have any (:
Cheers!
