Hey everyone I'm Tim a DevOps engineer from Northern California I've fiddled as lock picking and hacking circles tend to circle close together.

I just bought an old Cole filing cabinet / safe and searching for info on it led me here.

So here I am!

Re: Members Say Hi

Hi everyone! First time I've signed up for any forum. I'm 36, from South Carolina, started picking on the regular about 6 months ago. Maintenance tech of all kinds by trade but looking to getting into some lock related field. Really got started down the road while working in apartment maintenance and cutting keys also had to pay a locksmith 250$ for a key to an 05 Taurus. It was then i decided I needed to learn how all this stuff worked. Hope that wasn't too long winded.

To give Oldfast some more time for writing here about his safe openings I should take over some of his work.

So welcome, Skookum! :) And all the best for your business development!

Welcome Tia. I don't have any information that helps you, but auto locks are certainly an interesting topic.

Re: Members Say Hi

Hi all
I joined this site a while ago and I have been meaning to do an introduction about myself so here goes.
I started my career training as a joiner/carpenter way back. After this, I trained as a locksmith as I found that it was a rewarding and satisfying career move which I enjoyed and still do to this day. It gives me an opportunity to exercise my skills. Every day is different and I find as well as meeting people in my field, I learn as I go along.
After many years working as a carpenter/locksmith I still love locks. People ask what my hobby is and I tell them picking locks. I still love the feeling of opening a lock without damage.
Over here in the UK we do not see many mechanical combination locks. I have got myself what I think is a S&G 6730 to practise manipulation. I have made a Perspex cover for the back so I can see the mechanism working. After reading many posts on the subject I am still not really getting anywhere. I will keep at it

Hello there. I'm RubberBanned, I'm a professional locksmith. I've been at it about 7 years or so now. Been picking locks about 8 years, though. You may know me from lp101, twitter, or reddit. Nice to meet you all.

Re: Members Say Hi

Hello from Washington State,

I've recently taken up picking as a another hobby to pass some time during the winter. So I thought I'd sign up over here to see what some other people have to say about it. I do building and vehicle maintenance for a large agency. I'm pretty familiar with locks as part of my job, but I've only been picking for about a month.

I have a few other hobbies as well...
I spend a lot of time reloading ammunition and shooting, it's my primary hobby. I also play around with DIY electronics/hacking, R/C cars, and ham radio.

I hope to learn a few things and meet some good people here.
