ONLY 2 ?

Hello all, just wanted to share a find from a recent E-bay lot. I found this schlage cylinder with a 5 pin key but only 2 pin chambers in the lock. ( see pics ) Anybody ever see this before ? :???: * Note it's all aluminum *

Re: ONLY 2 ?

I am guessing that would be a construction core, used while the building is under construction.

Re: ONLY 2 ?

I have never seen a core painted like that unless it was a construction core. I would guess at the same thing.

I will have to ask Bob Dix. He has a lot of Schlage stuff that nobody else has.

Yes, please let us know. It's on the bay now, I don't really collect stuff so I don't know if it's worth keeping or not.

I'm afraid i can go one step further.
Here's a euro cylinder with 1 pin per side.

These are supplied with locks for gates. And no cheap locks either.

What a neat little lock. It sort of reminds me of some short little 1/2" mortise cylinders I have. So short (front to back) that it's only 2 pins. The lock cuts off halfway through the third pin chamber, the half groove of which is still visible on the back of the cylinder under the cam.

That is some high security there, Werewolf. Might have to trade you for one of those, just for laughs. Then I can pick like a pro!
