Thanks man. I need to make one of those euro cylinder repinning tools kokomolock made so i can put that cylinder back together. Just tried it with the long part of a tension wrench and some tweezers, got 3 pins in then my hand slipped and they all flew out again!

Dopug's Videos

Just picked this Yale X6 on film.

I struggled with this lock at first until I started using super light tension, then it became really easy to pick.

3 standard pins and 3 serrated, two of the standard pins are not brass, anyone know why this is? Also can anyone tell me what the ball bearing is for?

This is what Yale.co.uk has to say about this lock
Specifications:
6 pins
Available in a wide variety of sizes to suit different door profiles
Available in single, double and thumbturn variants
Ultimate key security with over 100,000 combinations

Features:
Exceeds the highest European security grade CEN 5 EN1303:2005
Anti-pick and anti-saw features with hardened pins to protect the lock
BSI Kitemark approved - KM532920

I made this vid at 5.30 am after being awake all night with insomnia so wasn't feeling that with it

I thought they were serrated? I'd never seen them before, only ever seen normal spools.

Do'h, yes, serrated, whoops! By the way, what sort of mat is that which you are using? It looks nice.

Re: Yale X6 Picked & Gutted, vid & pics

it's not a mat, just the top of a small tool box. It's funny as i was looking at my pics thinking "I wish I had a mat like that"

Re: Yale X6 Picked & Gutted, vid & pics

ok, i think the non standard pins are for anti drilling and the ball bearings are for wear protection as seen in many high-use locks such as commercial and prison locks. i'd love to see this lock up for sale if ur interested?

Re: Yale X6 Picked (in just over a minute) & Gutted, vid & p

Those three top pins in the middle look very similar to Corbin Pyramid top pins.
Naaapaalm...sticks to kids...it sticks to the belly and it sticks to the ribs...
See those kids standing by the lake...drop some napalm and watch them bake.

Re: Yale X6 Picked (in just over a minute) & Gutted, vid & p

UKLP, thanks for letting me know where the pins go, i can try and put it back together now.

Chris I never seen corbin security pins,What are the Corbin pins like to pick. The ones in this lock we're harder to set than standard spools as there wasn't much rotation/ counter rotation when set or false set, it took a few goes to get the feel for it, very light tension seemed to be the keen

I can't wait till locksmitharmy sends me my locks from the US, I wanna know if you boys get it easy when it comes to picking door locks. Are your keyways really that much bigger?
