Determining Value of Padlocks

Does anyone have a resource online or paper thT they know of to look up value of certain locks my grandfather collects antique. Locks but not sure of value.

there are a few places online that offer services for antiques, http://www.worthpoint.com/ is one. there are some that are free, just search google. your best bet is to find a service for regular antiques and just look up your locks.

Here I must disagree, do not ask regular antique dealers about locks, they know nothing of the fine detail of such a specialized field. I've seen insane values (which could never be obtained) placed on junk and items of great value overlooked.

If you have lots of locks to research I would suggest looking at www.alca.us or www.antique-locks.com

The vast majority of padlocks are, it must be said worth very little but you never know until you do the research.
