Budget Bench Grinder

I picked up this bench grinder at Harbor Freight about 6 months ago. No problems with it so far and for the price you get a grinder, fiber polishing wheel, and flex shaft "Dremel". It is only a 3" so it does not take up much room at all. The only problem I have had with it is it bogs down a little at lower RPM but is adjustable all the way up to 10,000 RPM, for 35.00 you can't beat it. http://www.harborfreight.com/bench-grinder-with-flex-shaft-43533.html

I actually looked at these at our Harbor freight, thought it may be useful but I passed on it because I wasn't sure how long it would last. Thanks for the review Kokomo.

I know, yeah? There's all this crazy cheap stuff in the catalog, but I was always to chicken to buy anything that might blow up in m face.

Hey thanks for the review... I've been considering getting one from there and a stand for it.

Their stuff is fine if it's not gonna see daily heavy use, and even if it does, it's so cheap it doesn't hurt the pocket so much to replace it.

I got the one that doesn't have the flex shaft attachment as I already have a dremel with a flex shaft so I didn't need that. I've had mine for about a week after my last post in this thread. Works great and I use it all the time. The only issue is getting 3" stones and buffs for it can be a bit of a pain in the butt. However, they can be found on ebay and on jewelry supply online stores.

Harbor Freight, to me, is like a Tijuana whorehouse; The prices are phenomenally low, but you realize why once your equipment starts smoking and catches fire. Every time I go in there, I am agog at how low the prices are, but I bring myself back to reality with the thought that I likely will not get much quality out of their tools.
