Sanding down the leaf on Goso picks

Ive only had the goso set for a couple of weeks and the gold leafing on them is starting to flake. I noticed that it was snagging on the keyway when i was trying to pick a lock.

No fancy tools and only takes a minute to do each pick and the cost is probably about €1 .............and you can notice the difference.

Damn!!! You see that people.
I wish my hand could move that fast

Yeah, them Goso's are too fat. I'd keep sanding it!
And good vid as new comers will really benefit from seeing this post!

Bought a set at christmas as a prezzie to myself , several were flaking before being used , bent the first 1 i used which was very annoying as
i didn't load up on tension !
Conclusion : i really prefer my homebrew feeler guage set as it is far more sturdy and it also fits into my wallet !

Hey nozza, touch wood i aint bent any of my picks yet. I ordered a set of the small majestics from uklockpickers and he chucked in some kloms too. The kloms have a lot better feel to them and are a lot slimmer than some of the gosos, which imho are way too thick in some cases. But on saying that i still use the hook picks from the gosos regulary.

Its just more ammunition in my box for theses goddamn locks :D :D

Great tip bouncer m8, I bought a set of Goso & a set of Klom (navigator) picks about 8 or 9 months ago & when they arrived I was all excited. The case for the Goso set looked amazing, I wasn't so impressed with the Klom case though & when I opened them up I was really disappointed with both sets. The finish of the picks was so disappointing compared to my Southords, so I put them in the cupboard & there they have been ever since, I didn't even bother to try to pick even one lock with them, until today that is when I read your post. I watched your vid & decided to get them out & have another look at them, after a little bit of work with a needle file I'm now much happier with them (well the Goso picks anyway, still not sure about the Kloms, the handles are not that clever) Anyway I will finally get around to giving them a try now. Thanx m8. ☠

P.S. I also used the needle file to clean up the small ridge left from the moulding of handles, now they are a half decent set of picks. There is nothing you can do about the shitty handles on the Kloms though, which is a shame because the picks are OK, it's just the handles let them down. They were only cheep though, so I suppose you get what you pay for. ☠
