i made this with the small handed people in mind lol i like this pick quit a bit and the length is all i need or even use most of the time it picks like a gem.

my first attempt at anodizing and using screws on the handle.it came out pretty well but the aluminum didn't take the dye like i had hoped it would
any ideas as to y?

It looks like it took the dye a little bit. I don't know just from looking at those two photos. There's a lot of things that could have gone wrong....
You didn't anodize it long enough.
You didn't leave it in the dye long enough.
Wrong aluminum alloy.
Wrong kind of dye.
The dye was cold, some dyes work better when they are heated.
Or maybe something totally different.

The picks look really good! How are you liking using screws? I recently discovered using what fastenal calls 'standoffs'. They work great because you can get ones that are closed ended and as small ad 3/16" length. They go as small as #4-40 which is quite small. The heads are hexagonal but that's an easy fix by chucking it into a drill and rounding the head with a bench grinder. Also you can make the head very small to decrease the ammount you need to countersink. I found out through trial and error that allen head or torx makes for easier alignment seeing as they are symmetrical. Just some food for thought.

thank ratyoke for the advice ill try heating the dye and see if it helps. i am liking the screws quit abit i am going to order some 0-80 hex drive screws and better pick steel this weekend.i hope to start cranking them out when i get a good system going.

just finish t this up a couple of hours ago.it took about 3 hours from start to finish the blade is 1095 spring steel with aluminum scales fastend with 1-72 screws hope u all like sorry for the bad pics

They look awesome. I liked the look of the small one especially. Really nice effect with those kinda screwed up proportions. Great work!

i now present the wasp at least that's what i was going for.the handle is about 1/2 in thick with a turned metal finish

so i was board last night and i thought picks and guns why not? so i came up with this
its a 270 shell with short hook pick just stuck it in and crimp't and it holds quite well .sorry for the bad phone pic.
