A craft knife handle. Wilkinson Stores, £1.80 with six blades. It has the advantage that some of the length of the needle is lost inside the handle.

Great idea.......does the pick end have to be adapted to fit in, in any way or is it able to fit in there as it is?

They just slide in as they are and the chuck well tightened. Also the dimple picks fit the above handle for manual raking. For me the picks in the kit don't make very good manual picks, as I think they are far too long, and too flimsy. I will make up a handle for the wire cruciform rakes though, as they may be useful. I have the feeling that both the dimple and cruciform rakes are crying out for reciprocating rake gun, does anyone make one ?.

thats a great idea! Sort of has the quick pick look, Dino made one of these, and HPC I believe, looks about the same with a smaller price tag!
I have been in the souls of many women, but I always end up on the soles of there shoes.
