My neighbour has ordered these:

'Intelligent Locking Mechanism' adds improved security
More positive locking, Easier fitting
Greater resistance to 'Bumping'
Comes with standard pins & key

They are for windows, despite the speel above this looks like a very easy lock to pick, mind you they would have to smash the window first.
Out of interest anyone got experience of them? Do they look high security to you?

You would be every bit as secure with a wood dowel to keep the windows or sliding glass doors from opening. As you stated, they could smash the glass. Then even an Abloy Protec would not keep them out any better.

At least that is my opinion. And yes, that looks like a $1 wafer lock.

IMO, a lock is only as good as the thing it is shackled to.

And glass is pretty fragile.

I disagree, the wood dowel can be lifted out of the track with a slim-jim which is available at most any auto parts store
This bar-lock looks to actually lock into place

Thanks for the comments, its interesting how one looks at these things now, up until a year ago I would have taken on board `high security` etc as advertised. Now with getting involved in lock picking I took one look and thought that set up doesnt match the description (in my view). I looked at the bitting and the the lock and thought " I`ll do it in one"

Being fair to my neighbour it will mean they have to create a lot more noise to get in so in that respect it does serve a purpose.
