Hi I have this Yale & towne , made in Germany. What type is it and can I pick it using a normal Klom pick set.Any ideas or its age ? Its a great piece of kit but unless I can key it its going to be one nice paper weight. The key next to it is not for the lock but included as I havent seen one of these (Yale) before either. Any feedback is appreciated.

Re: Yale unknown type, help !
Its definately not a pin tumbler, it looks like a warded keyway. I dont know what is in the klom set, but your not going to be able to pick it with standard pin tumbler picks.
Re: Yale unknown type, help !
By the look of it, its from the bronze age
Not to sure on the age but its an old one
There are warded picks included in the klom set, so i see no reason why you wouldnt be able to pick it , ive seen these on ebay - i was after one myself i think it sold for around 25pounds,
hope this helps, good luck with your quest for further info

Re: Yale unknown type, help !
hey, I have actually seen one of these and I was told the name of it, for the life of me I can't remember what it was called, just a dumb suggestion, would cross picks work for this?

Re: Yale unknown type, help !
Could it be a radial lever lock ?
I looked in "High Security Locks", and that's the closest I could find.

I have had a closer look, on the inside of the key way there is a few spring loaded plates on both sides which can be pushed back, The may be a few sets of these at different depths.Kind of hard to see down to far.

I have this exact lock and have been wondering the same thing. My warded picks are at home so I'll give it a go when I get off work. I'll post my results.
Re: Yale unknown type, help !
That key you posted a picture of, goes to a cross lock. If any of your locks are cross locks, you need a cross pick!
