A French forum I visit, has a thread where a lock is given a post mortum, and you can see all the internals, and perhaps get a feel for whats inside. Heres a few pictures of some of my locks.
Feel free to add your own lever lock innards.

Yale safe deposit lock (this particular one was one I made keys for from a Fare Collection Box).

Image

Horn plate removed.

Image

The parts related to the guard key:

Image

How they interact (not including how they interact with the renter key levers, which they do)

Image

How the renter key components interact. The comb-like structure is how the renter key is programmed in - hand change.

Image

Some of the levers, the parts that act as stumps for the gates, and the spacers...

Image

Don't have that particular lock anymore, but have another one that is slightly different.

Do you want to include lever lock gut shots from padlocks?

Is that Hobbs one powder-proof? Curious shaping of the cutouts for the innards.

That Chubb one, what do you make of that front lever? I have a Chubb that has something similar. The key never contacts it, it is the curtain what moves it. The stump extends up next to it and there is a tooth that blocks said stump until the curtain has rotated around enough to fall into another little cutout and thus unblock the stump again.

Hi @GWiens2001 Nice pictures. Any lever locks welcome. Keep em coming.

Hi @huxleypig. The Chubb safe lock in the picture has a curtain to stop guys like me sticking a 2 in 1 in. The curtain in that lock,(and in the post box locks)turns freely.
Its the key that throws the bolt on them. The lever that sits on the curtain wheel acts like a spring catch to keep the curtain in place.
On the slam/latch post box it will only let you turn clockwise, not anti clockwise. I wonder if this is to stop you reading the back of the levers.?

If you look at the bottom lever in the Chubb safe lock picture (lever number 7) you will see a piece that sticks into and towards where the curtain is/would be.
This traps your pick wire going between 7 and 6. I had to thin, and shape the wire to get under it. Once the levers are up a little I was fine.

The Hobbs lock I cant tell you much about it other than It says Hobbs & Co London on it. I havent picked it yet, (still graphing comination locks), But after a quick look inside,
In the picture of the lock with the bolt part thrown you can see that lever 2 is sitting directly on top of the curtain wheel. Thats going to cause some problems.

Hi @ Capt Dunc Any time your free, Im ready for some learning. I look forward to meeting up again, and picking your brain, as well as some locks.

That tooth is pretty cool. SO when raised it stops your pick from coming back to 'zero position' or does it trap it on that lever and stop you from coming back through the pack?

Here is what I mean by the Chubb with the tooth. See the little tooth on it that rides up and blocks the stump:

I've done a fair amount of work with curtain locks! You can expect to see some pretty cool stuff for them in the near future.
