most of the master 900 series are vulnerable to this tool,
and it actually requires a wafer breaker to work on most americans anymore.
since american became aware of the security flaw, and added a security wafer.
it is also effective on a MULTITUDE of other locks as well, including yale dimple padlocks.
a very worthwhile investment, but @ 75 bux, quite overpriced.
(at least the peterson one, which is the only one i would go for)
there are some cheap chinese knockoffs, but from what i know they are good for only a limited number of uses....then...., "snap".!

Re: Peterson bypass tool

These are the original Peterson wafer breakers bypass tools. Check out the front page of my site for a review on the entire kit.
If you are going to make your own here's a picture to help you out.
Note: The tip on the bottom tool has a small step cut in it.

Re: Peterson bypass tool

so the wafer breaker punches a hole in the wafer and allows you to insert the bypass tool? and how easy is this to perform. Also, I don't know for sure but I have torn apart a few brinks locks, and not knowing how this tool works, I am going to say you can't bypass these. I can see the American's being bypassed through the wafer but the brinks are made different, can you bypass them or not?
I have been in the souls of many women, but I always end up on the soles of there shoes.

Re: Peterson bypass tool

yes that is what the wafer breakers are for. apparently from what i understand you just insert the wafer breaker and smack it with something prob with the same for of a bump key or a little harder. this punches a slit or a little line so that the gulf club looking (peterson bypass tool) can slid through it. it words by going behind the core and turning the cam (spring operated part behind most removable cores. i have yet to use this but i have made 4 prototypes that i plan to test on the American series 40 lock coming my way thanks to pickwizard.

Re: Peterson bypass tool

here are the wafer breakers, the bypass tool, some Adams-rite push wires,
and "the silver Bullet (s)"
(honestly perhaps the one of the most useless piece of crap ever created...)
pick the damn ™Master with your short hook!
i supposed if you had no picks and/or no picking skills, this tool may work for you,
but the time involved learning to use "the silver bullet" could be better spent
learning how to SPP.
(just my opinion...)
