What concerns me is that other students also know about picking and bumpkeys. They know to keep their skills secret and when they steal something they make our friend Daggers the fall guy.

How does one defend one's self against a false accusation that one used lock skills to steal?

That type of stuff doesn't happen often, at least, not where I am. And also if it does, I know i have the support of a teacher and several students to vouch for me. Plus, most of the time i'm not even in school since i only take 3 classes so chances are that I won't even be there if it happens.

Our ethics are stronger than your security
That is a great logo. I think that its the best I've seen to describe what we are trying to achieve here. I would vote to further simplify it for a t-shirt like this: ETHICS > SECURITY. A picked keyway graphic on there would be cool too. It really would make people stop and think. Perhaps not the thing to wear to a job interview but, it would be great to wear around town. I would buy several. I think that this is too good of an idea to let pass.

I literally thought the exact same thing today. "ETHICS > SECURITY" is perfect.

I'm no artist but this is my thought:

There wouldn't be many people that would get that one.

I'd get a couple. :-)

Yes, I'm being deliberately obtuse. Great design. Wouldn't change it at all.

Maybe make it less generic by "Our/My Ethics ≥ Your Security"?
I too like the obscurity of the design.

Guys, remember that the OP is the same person who complained that he could not get a Best lock picked on a dormitory and does not seem to understand the concept of not picking/opening locks that do not belong to you!
Showing off to teachers and classmates is just plain stupid, and not only opens yourself up to trouble, but give our hobby a bad name.

That being said, I do like the shirts!

You sure you have the right guy man? I went through all 12 pages of his posts and didn't see that. I was skimming so I may have missed it, do you have a link?

Other than that I agree with you. The less outsiders that know I do this the better.

Totally missed that one. Carry on, nothing to see here...

Pretty much everyone I know knows that I'm into lock picking... Sometimes I question myself if that's a good thing or not...

I think what helped me decide to keep it in the open is the simple fact that if it's a secret, people will just assume that it's bad - right or wrong.

If you try to keep secrets, the people you're keeping them from will most likely find out, eventually. When they do, what will they think?

If they already knew, they'll just say - 'yeah, so what? It's a hobby, I collect stamps, he picks locks'. If they didn't know already, it could be different... Maybe not, but it could be.

Re: Couldn't pick, so I bypassed!

I don't deny it or anything, I just won't bring it up. I've talked to a few people about it, usually explaining it like a puzzle works. Generally the people that do know are so disinterested they never mention to anybody else or anything so it doesn't spread far.
