CARD READERS

card reader wireing diag.jpg
TECH .
The most important part of installation of any advanced lock is the wireing diagram it helps in,bypass also.
look at the diagram for the W1 SEBURY CARD READER. RFID

10 wires only two run to the lock, purple and orange.
also of interest to us his the brown, this wire breaks the current to open the lock when the pushbutton is pressed.
A basic understanding of a... diagram can help alot .
The wires all run into the back of the lock readers caseing and its just screwed to a door .

Re: CARD READERS

The software behind these also have some pretty interesting bypass vulnerabilities. I've heard of some that you could actually create your own card that exploits SQL injection via the card reader, which could give you access to buildings/rooms you shouldn't or data if you set it up correctly. I've been wanting to get a card spoofer to start playing around with it, but anyway good diagram!

Re: CARD READERS

Here's an interesting post from another site;
http://www.instructables.com/id/A-Universal-RFID-Key/
He claims to have made a "Universal RFID key" that will work most any RFID lock

Re: CARD READERS

I was reading about card readers and door locks the other week I saw a few interesting hacks. One of the more popular ones was presented at a seminar. http://www.extremetech.com/computing/133448-black-hat-hacker-gains-access-to-4-million-hotel-rooms-with-arduino-microcontroller

It gets a little to electronically technical for my brain.
