Mul-T-Lock C13 Shimmed

I do not know if this is a know bypass for this series of locks or not but here it is. This is a MTL C13 Classic, here is a link to the breakdown of the lock http://keypicking.com/viewtopic.php?f=91&t=3872. I noticed the plug and book are 2 separate pieces with access to the shear line when the shutter is lifted up. What I did was lift the shutter out of the way with a pick, insert shim and shim the first pin. Once the first pin is shimmed the shim is strong enough to hold the shutter up out of the way. Now just shim all the pins and it is open. I am not saying it is easy, I think I picked it quicker than I shimmed it, but it is another option if you have problems picking Mul-T-Lock.

This bypass should work with all the padlocks in this series that I have looked at online.

Either have I. I was surprised I could do it to a Mul-T-Lock. Tip of the day, when shimming a lock, if you are having problems with a security driver catching on the shim, overlift that pin and catch the shear line as the keypin comes back down.
