Hey I was wondering if anyone knew the dimensions of the silver bullet bypass tool and if there were any you-tube videos of them being used. http://www.lockpickshop.com/SB-3WDVD.html I cant seem to find much information on them. thanks.
Re: silver bullet?
Why would you need to see a video? You know what they're for, right?
Re: silver bullet?
I've not heard too many good reviews of them FWIW.

Re: silver bullet?
Personally I don't use the Silver Bullet series. Don't feel they are worth the time nor the expense.
Standard tools works just fine. Sorry, don't know where one can find the video.

Re: silver bullet?
It's not a matter of not being able to pick most master locks, it's just a matter of wanting to be able to bypass them and understanding how exactly they work. I assume they are used to pull back the thing holding the latch in place, but I have seen so little info about them I really just don't know.
Re: silver bullet?
From the looks of the tools, I'd say they don't interact with the pinstacks. So they are are probably acting on a cam or locking pawl.
Obviously, Peterson would like to sell their tools, but maybe in an effort to do so they might give you some insight on method of operation. Give Ken, owner/CEO/CTO, a call.

Re: silver bullet?
by any chance does anyone have a template for this? i have been wanting to play with one of these but i dont think its worth the money when i will only play with it once then toss it aside and get back to picking.. thanks in advance..
Re: silver bullet?
I bought a set. When they work, they work REALY well. They do put a hurt on the palme of the hands, though. I wrap the ends in a rag. They work by pulling the locking dogs inward, through the back of the cylinder.

Yeah I had a set that I bought out of curiosity, they hurt like hell when you are trying to get the point of the tools into the catches. Like Magician59 said...WHEN they do work they work like a charm...but there are some Masters that the silver bullets just will not go into. I don't mean different models either, I tried it on a few Master No. 1's and some others, some 1's it would work others I couldn't make it work to save my life. In my personal opinion I wouldn't spend the money on them, not worth it, but if you can find some sort of template and cut some yourself then they might make a nice little addition to your kit.

either of you mind posting a template?
Re: silver bullet?
I have set of the bullets. They're somewhat limited on what they can open. That's why invented the by-pass for the No. 5 M1, taking it to the next level.

Re: silver bullet?
I bought one a long time ago and the only thing they are really nice for and work consistently on is Hon file cabinets. I use them for lockouts on those and it pops it open in a flash. Also sold a few better quality file cabinet locks that way.
