The Razorock P160 and Classic smell like marzipan and the scent is normally called almond. Any of these black tubs are a good cheap starter soap http://www.italianbarber.com/collections/creams-soaps/razorock?sort_by=price-ascending

It isn't needed but I would recommend an alum block to both stop nicks and as an after shave skin treatment. http://www.italianbarber.com/products/osma-75g-alum-block

That is really all you need. There are pre shave and after shaves, this and thats if you really wanted to get into it. The buy in is a bit expensive but with blades costing $0.10-$0.30 each vs $2-$6? for carts the savings start to add up. Unless you are like me and tend to buy a lot of stuff.

Now, for some videos.

Here is how to load and lather soap. You can lather in a bowl, on your hand or on your face. The brush I listed is a synthetic so it does not need to be soaked.

After that it is time and patience. It takes time to learn when the lather is good and the proper angle for the razor and to not apply pressure when shaving.
