ASSA DP

Hi,

I thought that I share those pictures of my two ASSA DP cutaways.
It is really a nasty mechanism.
Every side pin is cut in half.
So there is a total of 10 side pins!
The bottom one has no regular pins (just the sidebar mechanism).
Dont think that they are an easy pick.

Cheers

Re: ASSA DP

Very nice cutaways! :)

Are they the new version of Twins? I sure heard they are, but then someone told me they are not as secure. (In fact I was told DP series isn't even meant for very high security. Just upper-middle class.)
But then they look quite secure to me...

If I'm not mistaken those are ASSA DP 11. The DP 10 has only 4 side pins.
Correct me if I'm wrong. :)

But help me out here: what is the difference between the 2 cutaways? They look different, the keys are different, but they seem to be basically the same lock with a bit different cutaway-method.

Do you think they offer good resistance against destructive entry too?

Re: ASSA DP

Trioving dp 12 ?

Wow now I'm lost.
I though only assa had DP series. And even he only has 12 in the a d12, but from the DP there is only 10 and 11.
Or was that just a typo?

How closely is the trioving DP 12 related to the assas? Is it the same family just re-branded?

No. I spent an hour on it and threw it aside. I have several of them. Maybe I should break one out and work on it.

Re: ASSA DP

At the moment I dont want to sell those two.
They are just too nice :D

The upper one is a "Demo" Zylinder (DP) and the bottom one a "Muster" (DP11).
So I guess the bottom one was given to a dealer in Germany.
The mechanism is the same I think.
I dont know why the Swedish one and the German one have a different key bow.

@Oldfast: I am not a student anymore so I dont have as much time as I used to. And most locks on my desk are just really badass at the moment :akimbo:
Picked all the easy ones in the past.
