Nice! Personally I'd prefer the ones with model number, but either way, awesome!

I would keep the numbers.
very nice work BTW, is it safe to assume that you are using a CNC?
i am planning something similar for some 5200 is a week or 2.

Nope. He is just astounding with his Dremel.

P.S. - Yeah, CNC.

This will probably be the only American Lock that i do and i was wanting to do the 5200. I just can't figure out a good way of stopping the machined surfaces from rusting afterwards so any ideas are welcome.
@Gordon Ok, ill put down the cold chisel and resort back to CNC then!

Don't think the 5200 will rust. If you are still concerned, a light coat of machine oil may work. Or if you have more time, you might try car wax.

That is some magical Dremel work if that is all you are using. I would say anytime you can leave the series number or makers name on a cutaway it is way more desirable. If you don't touch the edges that have been milled with your fingers or allow it to sit open in an evaporated cooled area or live where it is always raining I wouldn't worry about rust. If it starts to happen remove it and light coat it with some gun oil.

Well the answer's easy! You just need two of them. One with the serial number, and one showing all the workings
.
Such a beautiful job. The bevel edge is just fantastic. They look like they were made by the factory as a showpiece.

Truly awesome work. How any sane lock addict can resist something like this is beyond me.
Really cool to see.
