Re: My book is FINISHED!!!!

The book isn't terribly long, but I didn't add too many pictures that take up TWO pages like a lot of coffee table author's promote. There's lots of smaller, meaningful pictures and lengthy written, technical content.

Very nice. Looking at the price I thought it might have to wait for a moment of dead-tree coveting weakness, but the images are too fantastic. I love it when real pictures in a first hand perspective are used instead of anything too artsy or dry technical drawings.

A huge achievement, no doubt about it. Congratulations on getting it out there.

And many thanks for all the hard work and your wish to share it all. No doubt, I'll have this in my hands soon.

Re: My book is FINISHED!!!!

Beautiful work Lauren! Checked out the preview and I am very impressed. I will be ordering the hard copy as soon as my finances allow which hopefully should be by the end of the month. (damn bills getting in the way of my addiction again. I hate it when that happens).

P.S. Iwill be using your decoder jig as soon as I get another keyless Champion as I sold my last one to a fellow KPer. Actually I might just try it out one one of my others and have a bash at making some spare keys. Hopefully I can do it without cheating!

Anyhoo Congrats on getting your book out. I know you put a lot of work into it and it shows. I wish you the best and hope it sells well enough to put a little cash into the 'Picky' bank for you.

Re: My book is FINISHED!!!!

Thanks for all the support from everyone. This book is being sold through invitation only and is not being sold in the public Blurb library. Each chapter represents countless hours of work (some you've seen in this forum). There's tools and techniques that I developed that you will never seen done anywhere else, (ie.) decoding of a locked "New Champion" padlock. Retired locksmiths will love it, as well as antique padlock collectors. The price for the book is not cheap, but where else can you find such information in a book form?

Happy reading everyone. My own copy is on the way.

Re: My book is FINISHED!!!!

Book in hand :D Thought I'd mention... the company did a nice job Lauren.

I had placed my order on the 1st. By the 5th, the book had been made & I received
an email letting me know it had been shipped out. Then received it today on the 7th.

I'm not a quick reader... but the book looks great and my first glance-
over definitely has me excited. You should be very pleased with it!

Re: My book is FINISHED!!!!

I just got my copy today (hard bound). Yes, the company did a nice job. My aunt informed me about this company that produces books for those who wish to self-publish. I know I'm taking a huge money loss for going in this direction. I am not writing for The Independent Locksmith Journal anymore, so some money is better than none at all, and I really appreciate the members here that have given me the initial monetary support . I asked one member to do critique on my book. The techniques that I am using to decode many 6 lever padlocks in the locked position are awesome. This information you will never find anywhere else.
