It is amazing to think that Ingersoll rand as had no control over the keys for so long ..yet managed to keep the codes and depths & spaces from us or a secret for so long !

Not to mention being a pretty darn nice lock!

I did not write the depth of cut on each of my bittings because I am not sure where the keys are to be measured from on a double-sided key. Measured bit depths to the inner warding on each side of the blade. Are double sided keys just measured down from the edge of the blade?

Gordon

Maybe I'll get started uploading the pictures of the teardown of an Invinceable, and work on the pictorial write-up that I so clearly hate doing. :D Have pictures of the levers that might apply here, too.

Nice work, Ringo! :-D

Will print it out and put it into my folder next to Graham Pullford's book.

Side B: shoulder to 1st. cut 6,3mm. spacing 4,4mm
Cut depths:

Re: INGERSOLL KEY CODES ??

Thanks wiser for this new info !! looks like one of us is out :D 0.10 to 0.35 of a mm my bet its silca !! ah ah

should not make a difference as I cut one to code last night and worked great ! using the card produced

at least we have confirmation that indeed they are cut from the shoulder :D also taken into account was the difference in width from old

originals & new blanks that is 0.25mm

I have edited the cutting guide to silca,s cutting depths to follow suit ! and will change the cards A-B SIDE also given this new information

I feel we have made great head way on this so far.

Re: INGERSOLL KEY CODES ??

Interesting that the profile of the 6 lever lock key is different than any of the 10 lever lock keys I have seen. Means you can't just keep the longer blank and cut it down.
