I need space and depth info for American H10 locks. Sometimes seen as AH10.
Thanks for the help.

I'm pretty sure that space/depth info doesn't exist for the H10 locks. In the old padlock books from back then, they had tracings of the keys. You used tracing paper and copied the key, glued it to the blank, then followed the lines.

Thanks JUST 1....
I had that info but did not look closely. This American Padlock info says to use Jaw B which is different and it only shows 6 depths which is too few for the normal American padlocks. I think this might be what I need...I will try to see if it works. I will compare the space numbers given with some impressions when my locks arrive at the end of the week.

GW...
I hope I don't have to resort to that old trace method. I could not find the info on the web or my notes/ downloads so I had to pole the experts here.

Thanks again for the help....

Guys, the H10/AH10 is a dual sided wafer lock that uses stacks of wafers that are not separated and the spring is a Z shape on one side of the stack.

After review of the Master Lock info, p34, it looks like the wafers are cut down to match the key. Looks like some filing and a lot of fitting a key blank might get it to operate the lock. I was hoping there were some standards like a pin tumbler lock/key that I could use. I am no stranger to the file and try method. I had to do this a lot before I learned of S&D info.
It may take more time but I'll get my keys fitted.
Thanks for all the help....

you can always try this method. It still requires you to pick the lock, for which I recommend a half ball or half ball pick.

Thanks GW. Nice set of photos and as always a great writeup. Thanks for the info. I was going to try that method next week. I will try to "read" the lock first. I might get lucky.
I was going to split a key blank in two lengthwise and see if that might work. I have never done this method before so I'm sure to learn several new things the hard way.
Thanks for making my task easier. As alway, my hat is off to you.
