Master 66 Padlock key

Found a Master 66 Padlock, No key of course.
A Kwikset KW1 blank just needs a bit of filing, and "Bob's your uncle"!
Dang near a brand new lock with working key.
Still get that buzz, whenever I put a lock back in service.

I like that pinning mat. Can you show me a full picture?

Thanks

Thats great work mate. Do tell of the process you took to get the cuts in.

MBI beat me to it, I was also going to ask about that mat. Are they available and if so where and how much?

Re: Master 66 Padlock key

The Pinning mat was Free, got it at Clark's Security Expo.
If you get a chance you should go to one.
Try going to Clark's web site for Expo dates and locations.
The week prior ALOA is there putting on classes and testing for certification(Locksmith).
Good times.

Re: Master 66 Padlock key

Oh, as far as the key.
1. file the tip till the blank fits into the lock.
2. Make throat cut(deep cut near bow).
3. rotate key, bind. get marks, file marks.
4. wash, rinse and repeat(step 3) until open.
Papa, it'll take you, no time at all.

Nice mat, I will have to ask my Clark rep if they have any left :)

Re: Master 66 Padlock key

Love it. Kwikset to the rescue again. :D Have used those blanks in Lockwood V7, one of the American restricted key series (think R7, but it has been a while), and severl other locks. First time I've seen one for a Master No. 66, though. Cudos!

This video shows how this lock operates.
My best lock picking skills were no match for this high security lock. That's why I ended up making a key.
