Keys or Not?

Wanted to get some input from the community in terms of buying a lock with or without a key. Do you think investing my time to make a key for a padlock would increase its sale price? Would you pay more for a padlock with a key or does it not even matter? I have a good amount of locks in line for keys but I didnt get to them before I paused the hobby and now Im not sure. Do I make time and make keys or sell them as is? Thing is my time is extremely limited, I already sleep 3-4 hours a night just because Im so busy.

Re: Keys or Not?

It all depends on the lock. If it has collector value it will generally go for more with a key. Then you also need to figure out how much your time is worth. If you will only get a couple bucks extra for a key it isn't really worth it.

If you have the blanks, just throw a couple in with each lock - it could be a learning type of thing - maybe

Yeah, you might be onto something there. Not a bad idea Selim

Riyame, that was exactly my though especially since time is not on my side.

Selim, its a good idea and one I have been thinking about myself.

Much thanks for the input gents.
