while scanning hold down the little button on your headset until the light lights up and stays on.

yeah there is a way to do it for free, if your not using Nero to do all your burning then i would seriously suggest downloading it, after you've installed it you need to download some plug-ins for it, let me know when your done and i'll send you the plug-ins if you want, what that does is enables you to burn any video format of your choice on to DVD, without the plug-ins you can only burn DVD format files, hope that helps you out a bit.

just use microsoft movie maker. you should be able to import them there and then burn them to a disk.

yeah but movie maker is very limited on compatibility. your best bet is ike lew said, nero

about the trial thing, i'm not really sure to be honest, you could always look arround for a crack or a serial number to get the full version, other than that i'm not sure
