Looking at that key, looks like the word CISA is written vertically instead of horizontally like the Abus. Still would like to see the keyway.

Do you happen to know what key section that is? I may see if it is available at all here in the US.

Thank you all for the compliments!

I agree with you Michael, this CISA padlock is often underestimated. So precise and smooth, I love it!
Gordon, it's a C3000 key system, simple and clever design!

Edocdab, I impressioned the key you see on the left for the Fraim padlock. That's not difficult if you go slowly and file only when you see a mark. Gordon is right, both the key and the pick were steel angle brackets used in cabinets. I know brass would have been better, but that was the only stock I had available at that time.

Cheers :)

Day 205 of 366. A souvenir from Mexico. The nice thing about this padlock is it works both turning the key right and left. I've picked it going left, quite uncommon for a padlock.

Cheers :)

Day 206 of 366. I've never been able to pick this lock till now. I've tried every pick I have without success. So I made this pick today just for these extra short pins behind a long one. Looks like it works. It deserves a handle.
Thank you edocdab for pushing me to make it.

Cheers :)

Is that an engine oil dipstick that you made the pick from? It is, isn't it? How many litres of oil does that lock take? :-)

I knew you'd see it! If I show it all, can you recognise the car it came from?

I doubt it. So many of them look alike.

Did you cut it short, or did you pick the lock from half a meter away? ;)

You could have used the other half for a minimum height half diamond... :)

Nice logo there. You know anything about the history of the Beta?

I agree that's a nice logo. I had to ask a few friends and finally one knew the old BETA lock company from Milano. It was acquired by Corni, part of the Williams group. That was acquired by Yale. That was acquired by Assa Abloy. The last BETA cylinder was produced in 1992 or 1993.

Day 210 of 366. I remember I could pick this easily in the past but today was struggling. Turns out I was using too much tension. Almost release the wrench and it opens!

Cheers :)

You need a score card to keep track of who owns what lock companies these days. It is like reading the book of Numbers in the Bible and trying to memorize all the lineages.
